Proper
Hunting Attire
Ladies and Gentlemen without Buttons and Colors
Coat
- Oxford gray, navy or black
Vest - Canary or tattersall
Stock - White or
off-white with plain golf safety pin fastened horizontally
Breeches - Canary,
buff or rust (never white)
Boots - Black. Spurs are optional with black spur
straps. Black field boots are acceptable.
Hats - Safety approved black velvet
hunt cap with harness fastened is strongly recommended or black hunting bowler.
Gloves
- White string, or leather...such as washable buck. Or gloves conservative in
color & appropriate to severe weather conditions.
Hairnets - Should be
worn to keep hair tidy under hunt caps.
Ladies who Have Received their
Colors
Coat - If invited by the Masters, Pink (scarlet), black collar with
robins egg blue piping and Iroquois Hunt buttons. Otherwise black, navy or oxford
gray with optional robins egg blue piping and Iroquois Hunt buttons.
Vest -
Robins egg blue with Iroquois Hunt brass buttons.
Stock - White or off-white
with plain gold safety pin fastened horizontally.
Breeches - White with Pink
coat; otherwise, canary, buff or rust with black/gray/navy coat.
Boots - Black
field boots are acceptable or black with optional brown tops, tabs sewn on but
not down. Optional white garter straps, with white breeches. Spurs are optional
with black leather spur straps.
Hats - Safety approved black velvet hunt cap
with harness fastened is strongly recommended. Top hat is acceptable if wearing
Pinks, or black bowler.
Gloves - White string, or leather gloves such as a
washable buck. Or gloves conservative in color appropriate to severe weather conditions.
Ladies
and Gentlemen on a Bye Day or Cub Hunting (ratchatcher)
Coat - Tweed or
muted natural colors
Vest - Optional (yellow or tattersall)
Breeches - Tan,
canary, buff or rust or jodhpurs with black or brown paddock boots.
Boots -
Brown or black, field boots are acceptable.
Hat - Safety approved black velvet
hunt cap with harness fastened is strongly recommended, or black hunting bowler.
Shirt
- Stock shirt with choker band, shirt and tie or shirt with colored stock.
Juniors
(18 or under)
Ratcatcher - (see above) is appropriate for Cubing or Formal
Hunting or see "Ladies and Gentlemen Without Buttons or Colors". In
cold weather, warm gloves and warm jacket or parka are acceptable.
Guest
Attire
Guests from another hunt should follow the appropriate attire for
the day. Guests who have received their colors at another hunt should always ask
permission from the Masters before wearing their colors as a guest.
